Márton Bélik has worked at Eötvös Loránd University since 2006. He started his career as a coordinator and organiser of its international programmes. His main areas of work are joint international programmes, short-term programmes and the international marketing of programmes in foreign languages. In early 2009, a new central service unit was established at ELTE: the Department of International Education and Mobility, which deals with international programmes and students, and student-, lecturer- and staff-mobility programmes.

Etienne Cazin is the Coordinator for Europe and Middle-East at CampusFrance. Together with the relevant departments of the French Embassies abroad, he is in charge of developing activities for the promotion of French higher education institutions. He also participates in various EC-funded projects, including ‘Building Capacities‘ and the ‘Global Promotion Project' and has co-authored a series of notes about international academic mobility.

Previously posted at the French Embassy in Thailand as head of the EduFrance office, Etienne Cazin holds a graduate degree in Development Studies from the University of Paris I, a graduate degree in Greek Literature of the University of Paris IV, and the diploma of the Institute of Political Sciences of Paris.

Tereza Hájková is an official at the Higher Education Institution Department at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic. She is in charge of European Structural Funds in the area of higher education. Her main responsibility covers the long-term planning of higher education development and the development of the National Qualifications Framework in the Czech Republic. She graduated from Palacky University in Olomouc in Education and Social work and also studied Politics and European Studies.

Erika Halašová is currently Associate Professor of Medical Biology at the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine in Martin, Comenius University in Bratislava. Her research interests have involved human cytogenetic and molecular genetic studies of carcinogenesis. She has taught courses in Cell Biology and Genetics. Since 2007, she has served as Vice-Dean for Educational Activities in the study program of General Medicine for Students Studying in the English Language, and for International Relations.

Jozef Jurkovič graduated in economic and financial mathematics from the Comenius University in Bratislava. Since 2004, he has worked at the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic. Initially, he was responsible for setting the agenda for students' social welfare and the funding of higher education institutions. He has been Director of the Department of Higher Education at the Ministry since September 2007, and as such he is responsible for preparation and implementation of higher education policy in Slovakia.

Chripa Kizhakeparampil, a French-German citizen, is Policy Officer at the Academic Cooperation Association (ACA). She is in charge of ACA projects aiming at improving the availability and accessibility of information on European higher education. She studied International Business and Cultural Studies at the University of Passau as well as Portuguese Literature at the Universitŕ degli Studi di Bologna. Before joining ACA, she held management and teaching positions in Germany, Spain and India.

Christian Müller is head of the Communication and Marketing division at the DAAD. In this function, he is responsible for the secretariat of the GATE-Germany consortium and for the secretariat of the International Marketing for Education and Research joint initiative. Prior to occupying this post, he worked for the DAAD in Portugal and Brazil. He also used to work as university lecturer in German Language and Literature as well as in the training of experts in development cooperation (German Foundation for International Development). His academic education is in Social Sciences and German Studies.

Koen Nomden is Programme Coordinator / Head of Sector responsible for Action 3 (Promotion of European Higher Education) of the Erasmus Mundus Programme within the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency. Prior to this position, he worked in DG Education and Culture of the European Commission. Before joining the Commission he was a researcher at the University of Antwerp dealing with comparative public management and he worked as a researcher and lecturer at the European Institute of Public Administration in Maastricht. He holds a Masters degree in European Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges and a degree in Public Policy and Public Administration from the University of Twente.

Gyöngyi Pozsgai received her MA in English and Hungarian and her MBA from the University of Pécs, Hungary (1991 and 2000). Between 1992-2004, she worked for major companies as media manager, advertising manager, and sales and marketing director. Between 2004-2008 she worked as the Head of the International Relations Office at the University of Pécs. Her current position is the Head of the International Organisations Office. In 2006, she was appointed Secretary General of the University Network of the European Capitals of Culture. She is a PhD student in the Doctoral School of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Pécs. Her research topic is the international marketing of higher education institutions.

Daniel Roberts is the Director of IIE/Europe located in Budapest, Hungary. Mr. Roberts oversees all activities lead by IIE/Europe including the implementation of 15 IIE programs and initiatives in over 30 countries. With a staff of twelve, Mr. Roberts leads program development in Europe, serves as a liaison with officials at institutions of higher education throughout Europe and trains higher educational professionals in the region. Mr. Roberts has lectured widely regarding internationalizing curriculum and programs at universities as well as on collaborative projects regarding student and scholar exchange. Mr. Roberts received a B.A. in Political Science from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and holds two Master's degrees from Carnegie Mellon University in Public Policy and from The Pennsylvania State University in Political Science, respectively.

Bianka Siwińska is editor-in-chief of Perspektywy, the educational magazine, and is currently a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Political Science, Warsaw University. Ms Siwińska is also co-chair of ‘Study in Poland', a joint program of the Conference of Rectors and the Perspektywy Education Foundation.

Previously, Ms Siwińska was a scholar at the EVZ Foundation, the European Journalist Fellowship and the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, Germany. Ms Siwińska studied at Humboldt University, Berlin's Free University and New York's Columbia University. She is author of ‘Education goes global! Strategies of Internationalization of Higher Education', Warsaw, 2007 (the first book on the internationalisation of higher education published in Poland).

Born and brought up in Ottawa, Canada, Don Sparling attended the University of Toronto (1961-66) and Oxford University (1966-68). In Czechoslovakia/the Czech Republic after 1969, he joined the Department of English and American Studies at Masaryk University in Brno in 1977, twice serving as Chair (1989-94, 1998-99). Since July 2000, he has been Director of the Office for International Studies at Masaryk University, which is responsible for a particularly wide range of activities that include: negotiating and implementing bilateral agreements with partner universities; administering all types of student-, teacher- and staff-mobility programmes; devising internationalisation policy; creating and running special English-language programmes and summer schools for international students; and representing Masaryk University within international networks (the Utrecht Network, the Compostela Group of Universities, the Central European Initiative) and at professional conferences such as the EAIE, NAFSA and AIEA. On many occasions, Dr Sparling has presented at higher education events in the Czech Republic and in countries as diverse as Bulgaria, Greece, Portugal, Poland, Hungary, the USA, Canada, Tunisia and Morocco (Socrates/Erasmus conferences, TEMPUS seminars, etc.).

Niklas Tranaeus is Project Manager for the marketing of higher education at the Swedish Institute in Stockholm, with 10 years' experience in academic exchange and promoting Sweden as a study destination. Niklas is also Project Co-ordinator for the partnership between the Swedish Institute and 30 Swedish higher education institutions, ‘Study Destination Sweden', which was launched in 2008 and aims to increase Sweden's visibility as a study destination. He is also one of two representatives from the Swedish Institute to the Forum on Internationalisation, a national body with representatives from all stakeholders in the internationalisation of higher education in Sweden.

Niklas has a Magisterexamen in International Relations and a Kandidatexamen in Political Science from Stockholm University.

The Swedish Institute is a public agency that promotes interest in Sweden abroad. It seeks to establish cooperation and lasting relations with other countries through active communication and cultural, educational and scientific exchanges.

Erzsébet Veres graduated as a translator at the former József Attila University in Szeged in 1982, after which she began to work in a company. After ten years' experience in the industry and with several organisations, she joined the team of the International Office at Corvinus University in 1992. As a coordinator of different geographical areas, she became familiar first with Austria and Germany, and later the Eastern and Central European countries. In 2001, Ms Veres was nominated for the post of Head of Erasmus Office. She has been in charge of leading the International Office since 2004. As coordinator, and later as Head of Office, she was editor of different brochures and the English website of the University. She organised the University's participation at different educational fairs on several occasions and she has recently begun to work with agents.

Nina Volz is Project Coordinator at the "Information on Education Offers" Section of CampusFrance, the national agency for the promotion of French higher education abroad. She is responsible for the implementation of a grant search engine for international students and researchers.

Nina joined CampusFrance after a one year working experience at UNESCO's Division for Coordination of United Nations Priorities in Education and holds a master's degree in Intercultural Communication.

Louise Watts is International Programmes Coordinator at CampusFrance, the national agency in charge of the promotion of French higher education abroad. Louise is responsible for managing CampusFrance's replies to calls for tender and the agency's participation in EC-funded projects. She notably coordinated the series of European Higher Education Fairs (EHEFs) in Asia funded by the European Commission's Asia-Link programme, implemented by a consortium led by CampusFrance and consisting of DAAD, Nuffic and the British Council. Louise has been involved in a number of studies and projects, including Erasmus Mundus Action 4 projects and other EC initiatives focusing on European higher education, student mobility, promotion and international cooperation. She has experience of collaborating with national structures and HEIs from across Europe.

Before joining CampusFrance in 2004, Louise Watts was Programme Manager for the bilateral language assistants' programme at the Centre international d'études pédagogiques (CIEP). Louise is a qualified teacher with experience of teaching at universities, and holds a Master's degree in Linguistics.
